ROcKIN on The F-TRAIN LedZeppelin

LENNY KRAVITZ

LED ZEPPELIN

RAMBLE ON

.

Was Rockin-It-Out on the E train going home from work last night. Was listening to "Ramble On" by Led Zeppelin from the Led Zeppelin II Album and "Fly Away" by Lenny Kravitz. Listening to theses songs on my iPod Touch, I was just Groovin on my way home from work. Lenny Kravitz totally Rocks it out with Fly Away, as does Robert Plant, Jimmy Paige, and Zeppelins drummer, I beleive his name is John Bohnam or something like that. The Bass Drum really Rocks on "Ramble On" like I've never heard on a song before or after. Plants voice, Jimmy Paige on guitar and the drummer, everything Jells perfectly and just "Rambles On" Boop, Boop, Boop, Ramble ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LUV it!!!

The FIGHTER virsus TRU GRIT JeffBridges MarkWalhberg

Two of the Hottest Movies of the Holiday Season 2010/2011 are the "Cohen Brothers" TRUE GRIT, and the "Fighter" starring "Mark Wahlberg" and "Christian Bale" which may very well prove to be a Oscar Winning performance for Bale, at least a Oscar Nomination anyway along with many other accolades.
Back to the Movies on a whole. In short, quick, and simple terms, if this was a fight and you were to compare the two films, first off, in terms of the Box Office, "True Grit" as the Top Money earner and #1 at the Box Office at this point in time is blowing the Fighter out of the water. On the other hand, which film is of better quality in terms of the story, acting, and total totality of quality, the reverse is true in that The "Fighter" Blows "True Grit" Out-of-the-Water in that, overall the Fighter is a MUCH Better movie.
The "Fighter" is the true-life story of two former "Boxing Brothers," Micky and Dicky Ward of Lowell, Massachusetts (near Boston). Dicky the older brother once fought the Great "Sugar Ray Leonard" and Dicky's Claim to fame is that he knocked the great Sugar Ray down. Dicky's younger brother Micky looks up to his brother and idolizes him in a way, even though Dicky has become a hardcore "Crack Addict."
And in his role, playing the Crack Addicted Micky Ward, "Christian Bale" has done a phenomenal job. Without question a Oscar Winning Performance. There is not much doubt about this, in most peoples minds. Bale's performance is Scary, as it should be, he is a crack Addict after all. And for those who see this movie and Tour de Force performance, if you thought about it, you would not be able to imagine another actor taking on this role. That there people is the kind of performance that might rank amongst the great ones. That is, for those who are true movie aficionados and you pick movies apart and do things like trying to imagine another actor in a particular role, and you know, no one else will do. Such as the case of performances like; Marlon Brando as Stanley in Tennessee Williams "A Streetcar Name Desire" or Robert De Niro as Jake LaMotta in Martin Scorsesee's "Raging Bull." No one else will do.
The movie is wonderful. Mark Wahlberg as Micky Ward  chases the title. Will he, or will he not get a shot at it with his crack addict brother Dicky as his trainer and mother his manager. Mark Wahlberg does a fine job as Micky, but his part does not compare to that of Bale's, who takes a complex character and runs with it.
Back to "True Grit" the Cohen Brothers and Jeff Bridges. The Cohen Brothers are Great film makers and Jeff Bridges is a wonderful actor and who could ever forget Jeff's awesome performance as The "Dude" in the Cohen Brothers masterpiece The Big Lebowski? "The Dude Abides." To put it bluntly, True Grit was "So-So," not bad, but not that great either and definitely not worth the $13 you will have to shell out to go see it in New York. True Grit is a definitely "Wait til it is On Cable" type of Movie. If you're smart, you'll do just that. And though I'm a huge Jeff Bridges fan, I've got to say, the Rooster Chogburn character is annoying. The story had no suspense or drama. You always know what is going to happen, Chogburn is going to get his man. The Cohen Brothers are great, as is Jeff Bridges, True Grit is not. Far from it!  The movie is entertaining, but, in this economy, "Save Your Hard Earned Money" and wait to see True Grit for Free and on TV.

Hey Guys, "I'm Back!" Somehow I lost my password for my Dashboard that I run sever websites from, including Daniel-Bellino-Zwicke.com (this Site),  Big-Lebowski-Cookbook.com , Greenwich-Village-Italian.com , Vinyl-n-Vines.com ,  and NY-Foodie.com.

None of the Sites were down. They were all up and running, it's just that I couldn't get to the dashboard of each to make Post, so consequently there have't been any posts on any of these sites for 3 months. I started a couple of New Sites in order to make posts, as I wasn't sure if I would ever be able to get back on the sites, so I have another Author Website for myself at Daniel-Bellino-Zwicke .

I also started a new site for Positano , and The Amalfi Coast . Please stay tuned, I will start posting again on all these sites.

Thanks,

Daniel

Like many wonderful things that people Love in Europe that Eouropeans in Italy, Spain, Francce and all the countries in Europe, there are things that are not present in the United States of America, like certain types of music, food, fashion, habits whatever.

As with the Negroni Coaktail, Campari, and Aperol Spritz in Italy, Mortadella, and Burata, I started drinking NEGRONI 'S a good 25 years ahead of most present day Americans, who have just recently discovered this great Italian Cocktail in the past few years, I first started drinking Campari and the Negroni Cocktail way back in the Summer of 1985 when I made my first trip to Europe, traveling in Italy, The SOuth of France, and Spain. That is a Summer I will never forget, when I went to the Birthday Parties of FELINI and BOY GEORGE in the same week when I was to take off for Rome, Italy on Saturday June 15, 1985 ..They  actually had two parties for Boy George, one at the Palladium on 14th Street and another later in the evening at AREA down on Hudson Street in Tribeca. That same week, I attened Frederico Felini 's 60th Birthday Party at AREA  with my buddy Bobby Matinez. We were  hanging out with Felini and the legendary Italian Director told Bobby he wanted to put him in his next movie. It never happened, but it was quite cool to be hanging out with Felini (how many people can say that).
Anyway, I was having such a great time that week, althoough I was dying to go to Italy, I almost didn't want to go. Also that same week, Madonna did a few shows at Madison Square Garden a few weeks before she was to marry Sean Penn . At the opening night of Madonna 's Concerts at The Garden I was hanging out with her and my buddy Bobby in the Private Party for Madonna in the Michael Todd Room at the Palladium. Later that evening when we were leaving the Palladium, a number of Papparazzi starting taking pictures of Bobby and Madonna togehter.  Bobby ran afer a photogpraher and started beating him up.

Anyway it was quite a week, hanging out with: FELLINI , MADONNA and Bobby and going to Boy George;s Birthday Party.  Yes I almost didn't want to go to Italy, I was having so much Fun at home in New York 's East Village, it was quite a week, and one I have never forgotten.

SAY a Little PRAYER For ARETHA

Aretha Franklin

The QUEEN of SOUL

Goodbye and God Bless

As a child of the 60s, I grew up listening to the Beatles, The Four Seasons, The Supremes, all sorts of Pop, Rock, and R&B Music and even my mom's music of Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, and Dean Martin, I grew up with all these wonderful artists and their music and it enriched my life. This music was a natural part of my life and I just loved it, it made me feel good as I listened and sometimes I'd sing along. Along with these artists I have already mentioned and many more too numerous to mention, as in those days there was a great abundance of incredibly fabulous music, unlike today. Yes, I loved Pop Music, Standards, Rock, and R&B music of which along with Dianna Ross, Marvin Gaye, SMokey Robinson, and others, Aretha Franklin was always there, a natural part of my love with her wonderful music, musicc that made me happy and made me feel good, it was all so natural back then, all the great music which included fabulous artist like Aretha "The Queen of Soul." Yes all those wonderful artist who made great music in the 60s and 70s gave the general public their wonderful gifts of their musical talents and we thank them especially today, it seems that musical artist of the 21st Century just reffuse o make any good music at all. It is quite sad they don't make good music anymore, and for this reason as great as the musical artists like Aretha Franklin, The Supremes, The Beatles, Marvin, Frank SInatra and all the talented musical artist of the 1960s and 1970s have always been great, it makes them all the greater as we see in these times there no longer exists any great music artist, the fact that we have records and can listen to people like Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Dianna Ross, Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong and so many others, I and many others are so very greatful. Thank you Aretha and all your talented contemporaries. Goodbye Sweet Aretha, and God Bless You Always, you will live The SUPREMESon in memory and your music. Thanks again, You Will Be Missed.   DBZ
