Remembering "ELVIS" The King ! His Birthday January 8th when Thousands of ELVIS Fans descend on Memphis and "Graceland" Elvis's beloved home, where he is buried along with his Twin Brother who died at birth, and Elvis's beloved mother Gladdis.
Elvis, "The King of Rock and Roll" both has a legion of Fans fanatical and not. Elvis is remembered everyday, the same as "Frank Sinatra," John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix (Ah Move Over Rover), Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, and more, through their wonderful Music and spirits of all these Great Artists.
As I was walking around the Village on this fine Snow-Day January 12th 2011 and passing by Sheridan Square in the heart of Greenwich Village, taking pictures on my iPhone, I snap one of the statue of Civil War General Phillip Sheridan, I think about the Civil War and what this country (The United States of America) and the World would be like if so many thousand s of men fought and died in the Civil War to preserve the Union. General Sheridan was one of the War's Great Leaders and a favorite of Ulysses S Grant who himself rose from obscurity to become the Leader of the Union Army and later go on to become President of the United States.
